BOD Meeting of May 1, 2017:

Meeting called to order at 5:30 by President Sam Valenza

Minutes of March 6, 2017 – Accepted as presented 5-0

Treasurers Report: Accepted as read, attached by reference.

2017 Projects
Assessment of concrete shooting pads will be made to facilitate repair or replacement of the pads.
Plan being prepared for quote/bid complete
Quote Received and evaluated.
Bod will consider replacement of possibly one or three fields later in the year.

Exploring combined Wi-fi and new telephone service for club house.
A vote was taken to allow Randy Scott to pursue wireless internet for club house with his discretion. Randy will work with Frontier, our telephone service provider, to install wireless internet service for club house.

New Business
RSC is pursuing adding a card reader to all clay bird shooting venues
Longrange and EZ pull systems are being evaluated.
A system is being sent for test use on one field. Likely field three.

Additional gravel is being added in front of the storage barn. We will work with the landfill to procure the gravel and have it spread by landfill folks.

Tom Lichtey will donate about a yard of black dirt to fill ruts created by equipment when loading the birds into the houses.
No other member new business.

President’s Message

(May 2017)

Our annual spring cleanup is at 8:30 am on Saturday May 6. Bring out your shovels, rakes, and trimmers. No shooting will be allowed until all of the work is done. I hope to see you there. Lunch will be provided.

We are still working on getting Wi-Fi in the club house. I will advise all of you when it is installed.

The Board has decided to wait until fall to determine if new skeet field cement work will be done. Most likely we will replace the cement on one field each year for the next three years.

As stated in my last month’s Presidents Message, the club is considering installing card reader systems for all trap, skeet, and 5 stand/sporting clays fields. We will be receiving a demo unit in the next few days so that we can test the system. The demo unit will be installed on skeet field 3 and the board members will test it for reliability, functionality, and ease of use. The unit will be operational only when testing. When it is not being tested the field will operate as it is today and anyone is can use that field.

We are planning on getting a load of gravel to be spread on the gravel parking lot by the storage barn. The existing gravel has been crushed and moved as a result of snow plowing which creates pools of water when it rains. This will hopefully be done in the next 30 days.

If anyone is interested in getting certified for the handgun range, please contact Don Lyddon at 815-877-0754. You will need to bring a handgun, ammo, eye and ear protection, and a $25.00 annual fee.
